Welcome to Mary Tavy and Brentor Primary!
We are delighted to introduce you to our friendly village school, where children aged 4 to 11 thrive in the beautiful surroundings of Dartmoor National Park, West Devon. Our goal is to help every child achieve their best while enjoying a fun and engaging curriculum.
We believe that a fantastic curriculum meets the unique needs of each student, allowing them to grow academically, spiritually, morally, socially, and culturally.
We are always updating our website to make sure everyone can discover the exciting opportunities we offer for the children of Mary Tavy and Brentor.
. What a truly memorable day we had at Exeter Cathedral. The cathedral was filled with music, community spirit, and togetherness as Primary Schools from across West Devon joined the choristers of Exeter Cathedral along with Exeter Cathedral's youth and junior choirs led by Andrew Downton, for a truly memorable afternoon. The performance brought together performers of all ages in a celebration of choral music, a joint project between the Devon Education Music Hub and Exeter Cathedral. Over the past month, our KS2 choir have taken part in a Chorister Outreach Project in conjunction with Exeter Cathedral which culminated in a wonderful experience of a final workshop and performance. Under the direction of our 'music lead' Mrs. Higham our choir took to the stage to perform our individual piece ' My Own Superhero' and oh boy did they make us proud - reducing Mrs. Davies , parents / grandparents to tears. The children gave a superb rendition, singing their little hearts out. They performed with confidence and maturity and representing the school with pride. The program included joint pieces where the massed choirs performed together ' I can see Clearly Now' and 'Drop in the ocean' it was a joy to see our young choristers collaborate so seamlessly with the the wonderful choirs from primaries across West Devon along with the experienced voices of the professional choirs, creating a rich and powerful sound that filled the cathedral. The programme concluded followed with a rousing performance of 'Sing'' It was a fitting end to a very special afternoon- one that highlighted the power of music to unite, uplift, and bring pleasure both those performing and those in the audience a like - a truly special occasion and one that we won't ever forget
